30 SEPTEMBER 2025 - The Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) marked a major milestone today as it celebrated its 10th anniversary at the MBOT Experts Network in Technology, Innovation and Cooperative Event (ENTICE) 2025, held at M Resort & Hotel. Themed “10 Years of Uplifting Tech-Talents,” the event honoured a decade of achievements in professionalising Malaysia’s technologists and technicians.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Tuan Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, who complimented MBOT’s pivotal role in shaping the nation’s technology workforce. “The theme ‘10 Years of Uplifting Tech-Talents’ reflects MBOT’s remarkable journey.

From a vision under the Technologists and Technicians Act 2015 to now becoming a professional body with over 105,000 recognised professionals, MBOT has far exceeded expectations,” said YB Chang during his keynote address.

Since its establishment in 2015, MBOT has grown into a cornerstone of Malaysia’s science and technology landscape. By providing professional recognition to technologists and certified technicians, MBOT has strengthened career mobility and elevated the status of technical professionals across multiple industries.

At ENTICE 2025, the YB Minister launched “Badges of Progress: A Lens on Technology and Technical Talents in Malaysia”, a study by MBOT and Khazanah Research Institute (KRI) highlighting the socio-economic impact of professional recognition in Malaysia. It focuses on workforce development, industry standards and stakeholder contributions, while showcasing MBOT’s key role in strengthening the tech and technical workforce.

In conjunction with its 10th anniversary, MBOT presented several prestigious awards to outstanding contributors in the tech and technical communities:
• Anugerah Teknologis Negara 2025: Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail, former Vice Chancellor, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia;
