Jun 13, 2026
13 JUNE 2026 - The Seoul Accord Mid-Term Meeting 2026 was convened on 13–14 June 2026 at Cape Town, South Africa. It brought together representatives from signatory countries to advance international collaboration in computing and technology education.

Chaired by Prof. Pak-Leung Yuen, the meeting focused on strengthening the mutual recognition of accredited programmes, enhancing quality assurance mechanisms and promoting graduate competencies that meet international standards.

For graduates in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Creative Multimedia Technology, Seoul Accord recognition indicates that their programmes meet international standards and helps create wider opportunities for global careers.

Malaysia’s participation in the Seoul Accord strengthens the international standing of its technology education, opens up global opportunities for graduates, and builds industry confidence in local programmes. This aligns with MBOT’s mission to develop competent technologists and technicians who contribute to national and global progress.

The meeting also marked an important milestone for Malaysia as the first Seoul Accord meeting organised by MBOT in its role as Secretariat. It reflects the trust of the international community and highlights MBOT’s growing role in strengthening collaboration and advancing quality technology education.
