18 August 2026 - The Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) successfully organised MBOT ENTICE 2026 on 18 August 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together 630 technology professionals, industry leaders, academia and key stakeholders under the theme “Breakthrough with Purpose in the Age of AI.”
The programme commenced with the MBOT Town Hall Session, led by MBOT President, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Ir. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, which provided updates on MBOT’s direction and way forward. This was followed by a keynote address by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, Chairman of DNeX, and a technology-sharing session by Datin Ts. Ir. Nor Ziha Zainol Abidin, Head of Corporate Ventures, TNB.
The programme continued with a Fireside Chat on Transformational Leadership in the Age of AI, featuring Mr. Leon Jala, CEO of PEMANDU Group; Dr. Jasmine Begum, General Manager, Corporate External & Legal Affairs, Microsoft ASEAN; Mr. Shahril Hamdan, Managing Director, Bullhound Capital; and Ts. Shahril Ridzauddin Mohd Mokhtar, Head of Technology & Digital, Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), PETRONAS.
The official ceremony, officiated by YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, featured the launch of STI 100³ and MBOT Publication. The ceremony also included an MRA exchange with the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), United Kingdom, and an MOU exchange with The Institution of Engineering Technicians and Technologists Indonesia (ITERATI), strengthening MBOT’s international professional collaborations.
A key highlight of the event was the Award Ceremony, which recognised individuals for their contributions and achievements in Malaysia’s technology and technical sectors:
- Dato’ Ts. Ir. Dr. Zahari bin Dollah — Anugerah Teknologis Negara 2026
- Kapten Tc. Dr. Baharin bin Baharom — Anugerah Juruteknik Negara 2026
- Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Suraya binti Abdul Rashid — MBOT Woman Leadership Award 2026
- Prof. Emeritus Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah bin Tapsir, FASc. — Distinguished Honorable Award
The event also recognised MBOT’s outstanding partners, including CelcomDigi, i-CATS University College, Jabatan Digital Negara, Dream Catcher Consulting Sdn Bhd and the Telecommunication and Broadcasting Technology (TB) TTWG.
The programme concluded with a booth walkabout, lunch and networking session, bringing together the technology community for a day of knowledge sharing, recognition and collaboration.
